Conceived by film/television editor Walt Louie, Monday Nite VC has provided a unique opportunity for the community to come and hear Asian American filmmakers talk about their recent and upcoming projects, outside of the Film Festival setting. Monday Nite VC has featured stimulating talks with award-winning filmmakers, curators, and scholars including Gene Cajayon, Henry Chan, Richard Chu, Arthur Dong, Roger Garcia, Frieda Lee Mock, Raymond Red, Renee Tajima-Peña, Chris Tashima, Tran T. Kim-trang, and many others.

MONDAY NITE VC launches its Winter 2010 season with a revealing look at "Web 3.0", a new frontier in the development of a screening venue for Asian Americans. Webisodes, reality TV, podcasting, even online bloggers - the field is wide open, and filmmakers are ready, willing and able to fill the void. Guest speakers include the creators of the webseries LUMINA and the filmmakers behind MEGABOT, a production of Cherry Sky Films. Additional guests to be announced.

MONDAY NITE VC brings back Patricio Ginelsa and AJ Calomay, and surveys their joint careers as THE go-to duo for award-winning music videos and short films. As a duo and through their individual production shingles Kid Heroes Productions and Xylophone Films, the two have worked with the hottest names in popular music, and have additionally made names for themselves as locally-based independent and youth media artists and producers.

Visual Communications' landmark production VAITAFE: RUNNING WATER, was co-directed by Takashi Fujii and Foe Alo, Jr. with the support of VC staffers and novice Samoan American filmmakers from L.A.'s Harbor district. The film premiered in 1982 with a community luau and celebration at Harbor College, in the heart of L.A.'s Pacific Islander community.
