ASIAN AMERICAN/PACIFIC ISLANDER ARTS NETWORK (CAAPIAN)
Mission
CAAPIANs mission is to facilitate information dissemination between
Asian American/Pacific Islander arts organizations statewide in order
to strengthen collaboration and advocacy.
History
Statewide networks of specific arts fields and ethnicities are organizing
to facilitate arts advocacy from every angle in order to sustain and
hopefully increase financial support for the arts. With the support
and encouragement of the CAC, Barry Hessenius, and Jerry Yoshitomi,
member of the CAC Multicultural Advisory Committee, Visual Communications
in Los Angeles and Asian Improv aRts in San Francisco have taken on
the task of organizing the Asian American and Pacific Islander arts
community for networking and advocacy purposes.
