HAPPY BERRY
(Thailand, 2003) Dir.: Thunska Pansittivorakul
The Happy Berry are a group of happy-go-lucky twentysomethings, four
girls and a boy, who work as teen fashion designers for a living and
live their lives to the fullest. HAPPY BERRY captures their daily
lives and brings out bittersweet revelations that may shock “decent”
audiences. One cannot say they are an example of typical modern-minded
youngsters of Bangkok but they are real. HAPPY BERRY offers no moral
judgements but makes the audience start questioning on the term of
morals. Do they have the right to live their lives the way they do?
And does the director have the right to make the audience face this
reality?
