RICE RHAPSODY

Set in modern-day Singapore, RICE RHAPSODY stars Hong Kong screen
icon Sylvia Chang as a single mother with three sons who, in her
forties and few romantic possibilities in sight, realizes her dream
to open up her own restaurant specializing in that uniquely Singaporean
culinary delicacy, Hainan chicken rice. She laments the inability
of her two older sonsóboth gayóto fulfill her life
with a grandchild, while her own only realistic romantic possibility
is her biggest chicken-rice rival on the block (Martin Yan). An
opportunity to alter the direction of her youngest sonís
life presents itself in the form of a French exchange student looking
for a spare room to let while in town to attend university. Yet
in the end, she realizes that in order to her family to find happiness,
she must be willing to let all her children find their way in life.
