CITIES

Conceived by 4th and 5th graders from Castelar Elementary School
in Los Angeles Chinatown, DIFFERENT CITIES reflects the everyday
experiences of youngsters living in adjoining communities both real
and imagined. Various animation and video production techniques
brings to life a visual journey through cities of the imagination
in which the viewer becomes a fascinated tourist lost in a enchanted
zoo, an orange cathedral, a house full of music, and many more mesmerizing
spots...

BLU

Produced by 4th and 5th graders from L.A.'s Northwood Elementary
School, BLU imagines a world held together by the presence of the
color blue. Blue shows up here and there, pulses in this and that
scene, and remains the connecting thread through the narration,
which is complemented by a soundtrack of Balinese gamelan music
and dance performed by the students themselves.

BUSING profiles five Chinatown youth whose lives are impacted by
enforced
busing to schools removed both geographically and socially from
their home
environments. The film affords the youths to express opinions that
bring into sharp
relief the social conditions of their home surroundings and disconnection
caused by travaelling to their new schools.
