BEAR HUG (Yong Bao Da Bai Xiong)
(Taiwan, 2004) Dir.: Wang Shaudi; Scr.: Huang Liming, Wang Shaudi
Da-Jun is 9. His parent's divorce rips a hole in his heart. The
hole cannot be filled even with the hilarious various deeds he does.
Yi-Fen is 16. She's overweight but that's not why she's squeezed
out of her home. Her mother needs the extra money she brings home
for taking care of Da-Jun. Her brothers need the extra room created
by her absence. Yi-Fen craves for a hug. A hug her mother can't
give because her hands are full with her daycare job. Lonely and
neglected, Da-Jun and Yi-Fan hate the fact that they only have each
other. Where can they turn to for the hug they long for?
