This year’s edition of PINOY VISIONS, FPAC’s film/video showcase curated by Visual Communications and FilmAm ARTS, brings a new collaborator into the mix, and proposes changes that hopefully will afford you, the audience, the opportunity to enjoy PINOY VISIONS offerings throughout the year.
First, we are excited to welcome Kabataang maka-Bayan U.S.A. (KMB), an up-and-coming local youth and young adult organization dedicated to arts and activist advocacy through music, performance, and visual and media arts. KMB and PINOY VISIONS curators will each assemble an exciting hourlong program that will screen in alternating programs throughout FPAC Festival Weekend at Point Fermin Park (see program lineup and scheduled showtimes below). Many of the artists of these works will be in attendance to answer questions from the audience, so we encourage you to join us as we once again showcase the visions and voices of our community at FPAC 2007.
BUT THAT’S NOT ALL! Pinoy Visions programming is additionally slated for February 2 at Search to Involve Pilipino Americans, Inc.; and FilAM ARTS activities will assume an enhanced profile in May at the 24th edition of the Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival. Program details can be found on the Visual Communications website (www.vconline.org), or the FilAm ARTS website (www.filamarts.org). We’re really excited to announce this year’s program, and we look forward to seeing you at all our events starting Sept. 8-9 at Point Fermin Park.
