PARKING LOT VISIONS
FPAC activities move for the first time to Los Angeles Chinatown,
home to a growing boho Pinoy artists’ community, for a unique
outdoor movie-watching experience. A special display of Puro Pinoy
art and pre-festival celebration at the cutting-edge clothing design
room, birth from PERTH, opens into a parking lot showing of new
cinema works by Pinoy artists. Definitely an event not to be missed!

AUNTIE HELEN’S GIFT OF BOOKS

GOT BOOK? profiles Helen Agcaoili Summers Brown, founder of the Filipino
American Library. Auntie Helen, as she is widely known in the Filipino
community, grew up in the Philippines as a mestiza (half Filipino
and half Caucasian American), move to Southern California, attended
UCLA., became a teacher and raised a family. Her collection of Philippine
books from her father became the basis of her dream, the Filipino
American Library.
