STATEMENT FROM VISUAL COMMUNICATIONS' EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

[TUESDAY April 26] Visual Communications Executive Director Francis Cullado today issued the following statement regarding the Festival Week retrospective screening of Dai Sil Kim-Gibson's SILENCE BROKEN: KOREAN COMFORT WOMEN on Wednesday, April 27, 4:30 PM at the Tateuchi Democracy Forum @ JANM in Los Angeles Little Tokyo:

"The Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival strives to create a space for dialogue to challenge perspectives and invite discussion. We are screening this film as part of our Artist's Spotlight with a prolific award winning filmmaker, Dai Sil Kim-Gibson. We understand that this is a sensitive topic and we welcome all audiences to come and participate in the Q&A following this screening, as well as all of our Festival programs.
